Under-recorded monads (1km squares)
The county recorders are aiming for more even coverage at the monad level of the county. Here you will find lists for priority monads for each of the vice-counties(11, South Hampshire and 12, North Hampshire). You will notice that they use slightly different criteria, reflecting differing levels of current recording in each. The South Hampshire priority monads have fewer than 30 records since 2000, and the North Hampshire priority monads have fewer than 10 records in that period. In each case that gives about 100 1km squares to choose from in each half of the county.
If you would like to take on a square, please let Tristan or Martin (South Hants), or Tony (North Hants), know. They will then update the sheet so that other people know you are working on that square. Tristan and Martin will be happy to see your records via the BSBI Recording App, the iRecord App, the iNaturalist App, Living Record, or the recording forms published on this site. Tony prefers records via Living Record or recording forms. If your chosen method allows you to include photos for tricky or rare species, please do so - also any notes or measurements that led you to an ID. These details will help the verifiers.
